The Search for NUP’s Muluuta Still On

Joint security forces in Uganda have confirmed that the search for Mr. Simon Elvis Peter Muluuta is still on. Mr. Muluuta who is known to have been a National Unity Platform (NUP) member has been missing in action since January after security forces started searching for him. It was his close friends and associates that told him to go into hiding because his life could be in danger.
According to sources close to Mr. Muluuta, who is a strong supporter of Presidential candidate Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi in the 2021 general elections was a polling agent in Kasangati for NUP. The general elections saw Bobi Wine lose to President Museveni.
Sources that prefer anonymity indicate that Mr. Muluuta disappeared after elections and since then, his whereabouts have not been known by anyone, not even his close friends or family.

It is said that the Government of Uganda through the joint security forces is looking for Mr. Muluuta on three accounts; inciting election violence, attempted grabbing of firearms from police, and being in possession of military gear and wearing red berets.
Mr. Muluuta was among the prisoners that escaped from unlawful custody in November 2021 while in transit from Kasangati court where they had been summoned to answer to charges including, inciting election violence, attempted grabbing of firearms from police, and being in possession of military gear and wearing of red berets.
It was during that transfer that Mr. Muluuta and a few suspects jumped off the military truck and escaped arrest making them wanted by the police.
Neighbors in Kasangati where Mr. Muluuta left his family have told this website that the family is in fear and wants to shift because they are always interrogated by men in no uniform asking them to produce the whereabouts of Mr. Muluuta.
