Tiger Power Out To Book Final Spot

The Tiger Head sponsored Power Basketball Club will be all out to book a final spot tonight.

It is going to be deafening loud and boiling hot-game as the Tiger Power face Stanbic Warriors in the best of five series at the YMCA Court, Wandegeya.

Coach Bernice Ankunda is adamant Power will be keeping a close eye on Warriors star Henry Malinga when the play-maker tries to inspire his team to stop Power.

Power stunned Warriors 69-66 in their last encounter when least expected to record a 2-0 lead in the series, and they are aiming to extend their winning streak to book a final slot in the race.

The former champions are overwhelming favourites, with many people anticipating another one-sided game in favour of the in-form. But, they will need super support from their big three led by Joseph Ikong, Norman Blick and Philip Ameny.

However, Malinga, who posted a useful contribution of for Warriors in their last encounter, insisted nobody will be taking his side lightly.

He believes they have good players and off course with Ivan Enabu and Brian Gumusirisa, they can control the game.

Meanwhile, UCU Canons will face off Magic Stormers in the women’s battle. The University side is at advantage with a 2-0 lead and a win in today game will propel them to the finals.
