Two Arrested over UPDF Fake Arms deal

Two people including Gen. Salim Saleh’s aide have been arrested in connection to bogus arms deal.

Fresh details into an alleged arms deal between UPDF and a company from Poland have emerged with the arrest of a UPDF captain a one Muhoozi and Sam Simbwa who were allegedly part of the deal.

According to UPDF spokesperson Paddy Ankunda, Muhoozi and Simbwa were among those who participated in the alleged deal which saw a Polish company lose over a half a million Euros.

“We would like to state clearly at this moment that sometime in 2015 fraudsters claiming to be representing the UPDF met a representative of a Polish company and in subsequent discussions the investigations have revealed an acceptance agreement was reached on behalf of the ministry of defence.” Ankunda said.

The chieftaincy of Military Intelligence has joined the police in its investigations into the deal in order to find out the masterminds.
