Cranes enter Turkey training base

Uganda have to win the match against Senegal in order to progress.

Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s Uganda Cranes charges have started a four day training camp Istanbul, Turkey Monday afternoon.

Cranes who were 3-1 winners over Botswana in an international friendly on Saturday in Gaborone had a stopover in Kenyan capital Nairobi on Sunday the 16 man for Instanbul in the wee hours of Monday.

The team on arrival checked in at luxurious WOW Hotel, 10mins drive from Istanbul international airport Turkey at midday and will by Tuesday be joined by team captain Andrew Mwesigwa, St. George defender Isaac Isinde, US based Henry Kalungi and Mike Azira, midfielders Tonny Mawejje, William Luwagga Kizito.

Midfielders Said Kyeyune, Joseph Mpande and Joseph Kabagambe who played against Botswana didn’t make the trip while D. Onyango, R. Odongkara, H. Muwonge, D. Iguma, G. Walusimbi, S. Kabugo, R. Kasagga, H. Wasswa, V. Kayizzi, M. Oloya, G. Kizito, N. Wadada, E. Okwi, F. Kalanda, H. Kiiza, B. Majwega and J. Ochaya all made the cut.

Uganda faces Senegal in Marrakesh, Morocco on September 7 in the final group J match that they must win to stay on course for Brazil 2014.
