 KCCA 0-2 NEC

Uganda Premier League (UPL) new entrants NEC FC condemned KCCA FC to a 2-0 defeat on Thursday evening at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, Kampala.

NEC’s off-season signing Cromwell Rwothomio netted twice. All his goals came in the first half with the opener arriving just five minutes into the game and the second being scored in 27th minute. His heroics earned him man of the match award.

Rwothomio’s brace condemned the Kasasiro Boys to a fifth straight league loss of the season and they (KCCA) are yet to pick a point in the division, they are at the bottom of the 16-team table.

However, the win is NEC’s fourth victory after five games and they are third on the log with 12 points, three ahead of behind joint leaders Kitara FC and BUL FC.

Jackson Magera was managing his first game as KCCA interim coach following the sacking of Sergio Traguil on Tuesday this week. The local coach couldn’t get the boys going and one wonders what’s going on at Lugogo. The Portuguese was let go after losing the four opening league games of the season.

Up next for KCCA is an away match against Arua Hill on Tuesday next week. NEC will play host to Gadaffi the next day.
