Wasswa’s KCCA Move Blocked
Midfielder Hassan Mawanda Wasswa has failed to join the FUFA Super League table leaders KCCA FC after his agent in Turkey reportedly blocked the move.
The Cranes player who skippered the national team in a 2-all draw away to Rwanda yesterday had already reached an agreement with management of the local club last month and even received some payment, but the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) has failed to come through because of some complications.
Club spokesperson Aldrine Nsubuga told Uganda Radio Network on Wednesday that the player started training last month and was even on the pay roll, but added that after complications of getting his ITC, the club has been forced to suspend a number of issues, including pay, they had agreed with the player.
The spokesperson said they had tried to get the ITC through the new Transfer Matching System (TMS) from Turkey where the player featured before, but failed because of some complications.
Wasswa had hoped to join KCCA for three months before joining Free State Stars in the South African PSL.
Nsubuga said the club would not abandon the player butl still offer him a training facility because he loves KCCA. He prayed for a speedy resolution to the confusion over his contract because KCCA FC would like to officially sign him for the remaining matches in the FUFA Super League.
Wasswa played for Turkey’s Kayseri Erciyessper FC before his contract was not renewed.
