The Red Pepper newspaper, a Red Pepper Online sister publication, Thursday evening launched a swanky tabloid named ‘Hello Uganda’ at its plush premises in Namanve, Kampala, Uganda.

Launching the weekly elite tabloid, billed to be the most sought after newspaper soon, the Minister in Charge of the Presidency and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Frank Tumwebaze, saluted Red Pepper for the innovation.

“I congratulate Red Pepper and the brains behind it for continuing to invest and create more jobs unlike many Ugandan businessmen who make some money and relax,” he told a huge gathering of newspaper agents and staff of Red Pepper.

‘Hello Uganda’ joins a stable of three newspapers published by The Pepper Publications group. They are Red Pepper, a leading English daily, Kamunye, a Luganda daily and Entatsi, a weekly publication in the local Runyakitara language widely spoken in Western Uganda.

Minister Tumwebaze urged Ugandans to read ‘Hello Uganda’.

“Please read this paper. It is published by young people who are the future of this country. They need support and all help that there is,” he said.

He was surprised to discover that The Pepper Publications Ltd was a very unique organization in Uganda employing 99% young people.

“I have not even found this in any government institution in Uganda. You must be commended for this and please use your generational advantage to champion quality and logical debate in Uganda for the sake of posterity.”

The minister also appealed to the management to champion a generation that allows logic to be the fulcrum of intellectual debate in Uganda.

“The generation of our children shan’t speak tribe and religion but issues, substance and logic” Tumwebaze said.

“HELLO UGANDA” is a high end paper for readers with swag. Its launch edition has a list of over 500 real and fake celebrities in Uganda and an exclusive interview with Marion Nankya, the fiancée of Buganda’s Prince David Wasajja. It is her first interview ever and she discusses her romance with the prince. It is a must read. It comes out every Friday.
