The skipper of the national cricket team Davis Arinaitwe Karashani has said they are heading to Bermuda to prove that their brand of cricket is not for Division 3, but higher standards.

The team that was eventually given Bermuda visas and UK transit visas on Monday after intervention by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take part in the World Cricket League Division 3 tournament which runs from April 28 to May 5.
Jasper Aligawesa, the National Council of Sports (NCS) General Secretary, while flagging off the team at the headquarters at Lugogo asked the team to play their hearts out and carry the flag high. He said cricket was an example to other sports because it has eschewed wrangles.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA), Justine Lygyalingi thanked all parties that had helped the team to make the trip including Mehta Group that has helped them travel early to Bermuda where they will also have two build up games before the tournament.

Speaking about the competition, Karashani said they expect all teams to be tough. But he vowed to ensure that the team take every game seriously because this is a kind of event where every win matters.
Among the notable names in the 14-man squad include; Roger Mukasa, Lawrence Ssematimba, Frank Nsubuga (vice-captain) and Arthur Kyobe among others.
