We Are Ready to Clear Bobby – FUFA

The local Football governing body FUFA says it is ready to pay Robert ‘Bobby’ Williamson, the former national team coach three months salary for terminating his contract.

However, Rogers Mulindwa, the FUFA Head of Communication says they will not make any move unless Bobby writes requesting for the money.

According to Mulindwa, Bobby has an option to request for the money or stick around for the next three months and get paid by the federation. Bobby was sacked by the federation last week following a series of poor results.

On Monday, Mujib Kasule, the FUFA vice president in charge of the league told URN that they were in a dilemma of appointing a new coach. He explained that the federation can neither advertise nor receive applications for a new coach unless the issues of Bobby are settled completely.

According to Mujibu Kasule despite the fact that they gave Bobby a three month notice terminating his contract, he can choose to serve for three months and earn his money until he leaves the country. Kasule was none committal on whether or not, the federation has money to compensate Bobby in lieu for three months and send him off at once.

He however says that, they are optimistic that Bobby will write to the federation so that they can make their next move. Kasule says that as they wait for the matter to be resolved Cranes assistants Jackson Mayanja, Leo Adraa and Fred Kajoba will remain in-charge of the team.

Bobby Williamson has been receiving between 30 and 32 million shillings each month. He guided the national team to four regional Cecafa Tusker Senior Challenge Cups, qualification for the 2011 Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) in Sudan and also played a role in helping the junior team to qualify for the 2011 All Africa Games in Mozambique.
