Be resourceful! Over 1,850 Graduate at University of Juba


Juba – Over 1,850 students graduated at University of Juba in various disciplines as South Sudan government moves to champion education for growth and national reconciliation.

In a colourful ceremony, South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit, in his capacity as a Chancellor of all public Universities, presided over the 23rd graduation at the University of Juba in the nation’s capital.

In his remarks, H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit advised the graduates to use the knowledge the acquired creatively to realise opportunities for themselves and others.
“We assured the graduates that the Government will consider merit-based recruitment policy regarding employment in the public sector. This policy will target young graduates from our Universities for employment in the public sector,” said President Kiir.

He stressed that he will work with the concerned Ministries to ensure that they develop this recruitment policies.
To re-echo South Sudan’s commitment,President Salva Kiir pledged to the University of Juba to construct one lectures hall, one laboratory for the department of civil engineering, school of engineering and architecture, and to asphalt the internal roads of the main campus of the University of Juba.
