3 Die upon Cranes Qualification

Three Ugandans were reported knocked dead a few minutes after Uganda cranes match against Comoros on Sunday September 4.
The accident happened around Kalerwe, a Kampala suburb.
According to the police spokesperson AIGP Felix Kaweesi the deceased were knocked by over joyed drivers who were coming from Namboole stadium and are yet to be identified.
“There were two accidents after the Uganda Cranes match at Namboole on Sunday. The first accident happened at 7:30pm where two teenagers were knocked dead by a speeding car at Kalerwe. Another accident happened at around 9pm where a 50-year-old man was also knocked dead at the same stretch.” Kaweesi said at a press briefing on Monday morning.
Kaweesi identified the deceased as Esther Namyala 17, Teddy Namalwa 13 and Isma Kinubi.
He said the girls’ bodies had been given to the relatives while Kinubi’s body was still at Mulago Hospital morgue.
The excited drivers were coming from Nambole and they were delighted after having qualified for 2017 AFCON in Gabon after a period of 38 years.
