More 368 to graduate at UCU Mbale University College

  • They include two students who will graduate posthumously

Mukono – Tuesday November 27th, 2018– A total of 368 students are set tongraduate at Uganda Christian University Mbale University College this Friday. This will also be the second graduation ceremony held at the Mbale based UCU constituent College. It is also the fifth part of UCU’s 19th graduation ceremony.

The graduands include 167 (45%) males and 201 (55%) females. Nine students (four males and five females) will be awarded first class degrees. At 102, Bachelor of Business Administration has the bulk of graduands.

Two students will graduate posthumously. They are Sharon Gimbo (Bachelor of Business Administration) who died on November 10, 2018 due to injuries she sustained when she fell in the bathroom. Jacklyn Chelengat (Bachelor of Education) breathed her last on August 16, 2018 due to child-birth related complications at Kapchorwa Hospital.

The graduation ceremony will be presided over by the UCU Chancellor and Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Stanley Ntagali.

It will be preceded by a commissioning service on Thursday, which is a formal send off session when graduands are prayed for and blessed before.

Transcripts ready

In line with the UCU practice, graduands will walk away with their transcripts on graduation day to facilitate their quicker absorption in the job market.

UCU holds seven graduation ceremonies annually at its Main Campus and regional campuses and constituent colleges.

They comprise of three graduation ceremonies at the UCU Main Campus in Mukono, two graduation ceremonies at UCU Mbale University College, and two graduation ceremonies at Bishop Barham University College, (BBUC, Kabale).

Students at UCU Kampala Campus and UCU Arua Campus graduate from the Main Campus in Mukono.
