Besigye sympathisers want Zac, Godber out of TDA

Supporters of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential flag bearer Dr. Rt. Col. Kizza Besigye who is in the race for TDA slot have started sounding alarm on social media demanding Bishop Zac Niringiye, (Director of TDA Secretariat) and Mr.Godber Tumushabe, (TDA Policy Advisor) to step out.
They are accusing the duo of nominating former prime minister at 10:00pm on Friday and manipulating the process that will oversee election of party flag bearer later this week.
“Bishop Zac Niringiye and Mr.Godber Tumushabe, we demand that you step out of TDA as soon as you can… What deal did u have in nominating someone at 10pm in the night? What game did u have in travelling to as far as Mbale to beg someone to come and be part of TDA out of your wish not his will?,” Kahemba Babi, one of Besigye’s supporters said.
He said they will officially petition the alliance in less that 48hrs from now (last night) with details demanding the duo to leave the alliance.
Doreen Nyanjura, another Besigye supporter has vowed to ignore the presidential elections if Mbabazi is elected TDA flag bearer.
“Amama boldly says he is representing NRM in TDA! I have never supported NRM and I am not about to do that. Should he be selected to carry the flag of TDA, I won’t participate in presidential elections,” she said.k8
The former Prime Minister formally joined The Democratic Alliance (TDA) when on Friday night at around 10.10pm after agreeing to the TDA protocol and the Citizens Compact on constitutional and electoral reforms. The protocol binds him to support a candidate selected by the alliance in case he doesn’t win the nomination.
