Capt.Mike Mukula Recounts Deceased NRM Cadre Kasamba’s Life Was Full of Nationalism, Pan-Africanism and Patriotism

The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party vice chairperson for Eastern Uganda, Captain George Michael Mukula has described the late Mathias Kasamba, as a respected leader and champion of African development.

Kasamba, 57, the former Kakuuto Member of parliament (MP) in the 9th legislature has been the Uganda’s representative in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) in Tanzania.

The deceased, according to Emmanuel Lumala Dombo, the NRM director of information had been admitted at Nakasero for three days after he was diagnosed with brain tumor before he was pronounced dead on Tuesday evening.

In his tribute on Wednesday 28 April 2021, businessman cum politician Mike Mukula said Kasamba’s passing has been felt not only in Uganda but across the region and the continent.

“The family of nations of East Africa is mourning the passing of one of their own, an esteemed leader of his people and a tireless champion of the cause of great lakes region progress. On behalf of the government and people of Eastern Uganda, please accept our deepest sympathies and condolences” he said.

According to Mukula, the deceased has been an advocate of the main pillars of NRM ideology that include; Nationalism, Pan Africanism, Democracy and Socio-economic transformation who deeply gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country all years he has been in service.

‘’He has been among the people who have had such a profound impact on the future direction of Uganda. His understanding of the link between Human empowerment and the quality of the Politics undoubtedly influenced transformation and policy-making. It is a tribute to his passionate determination that so many people feel such a deep sense of loss at his passing’’, remarked Mukula.

Mukula saintly committed Psalm 73:26; ‘My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever’, to the deceased’s family and the greater East African community member countries, who will ever miss his constructive leadership.

By press time, details about his burial program were still scanty however ,the NRM secretariat led by secretary general Kasule Lumumba said was undertaking funeral preparations.
