Chelsea confirm departure of Gonzalo Higuain

Chelsea have confirmed that Gonzalo Higuain will be leaving this summer after an underwhelming loan spell in the second half of last season from Juventus.
Higuain, alongside Gary Cahill, Rob Green, Eduardo, and Kyle Scott have all said their goodbyes to Stamford Bridge and will now be looking for new clubs.

However, there was no mention of Mateo Kovacic, currently on loan from Real Madrid, hinting that he will sign a permanent deal imminently with Chelsea.

It is expected the Croat will sign on the dotted line after Chelsea recently accidentally announced his signing on the mobile app.
In an interview called My Footballing Firsts on the club’s The Fifth Stand app, the post read: ‘After securing a permanent switch to Stamford Bridge following a successful loan spell at Chelsea from Real Madrid, we caught up with Mateo Kovacic to find out what some of his first footballing memories are…’ before they ran an interview with him.
Cahill’s departure will hit Chelsea the hardest, having spent a successful seven and a half years at Stamford Bridge.
The defender, who played 291 times and scored 25 goals, won the Champions League, two Europa Leagues, two Premier League titles and two FA Cups with Chelsea.
