“The applicant Shaka Robert detained at special Investigation Division Kireka, Kampala be unconditionally released. The commandant and his or her subordinate is/are here by directed immediately to comply with order,” a court order signed by Alex Mushabe Karocho, Senior Magistrate reads

Shaka, an Information and Security analyst who has been posting information critical to government on his Facebook account (Maverick Blutaski ) was arrested on Monday morning hours after NTV aired an interview in which Shaka  revealed how government was trailing and suspecting him to be the anonymous person running Tom Voltaire Okwalinga (TVO) social media account.

He told NTV that in February 2015, he was summoned by criminal investigation intelligence directorate (CIID) Kibuli for investigations. Later, his home was searched by detectives.

The order to release Shaka comes after his lawyer Nicholas Opiyo filed a petition yesterday evening demanding court to order the police to unconditionally release him because he had spent more than 48 hours that a suspect can legally spend in prison before presented to court.
