FDC’s Kibanzanga Denies NRM Links

Former Busongora South MP Christopher Kibanzanga
Former Busongora South Member of Parliament and Rwenzururu prince, Christopher Kibanzanga has rubbished allegations that he could have crossed to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) following his recent meeting with the president saying the meeting was “non political”.

Kibanzanga subscribes to opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
President Yoweri Museveni in August met members of the Rwenzururu Kingdom Royal Family including the former Busongora South Member of Parliament Hon. Kibanzanga Christopher who is a known critic of President Museveni’s regime.
His meeting with the president raised speculation that the two could have ‘buried the hatchet’ and agreed to work together again much to the chagrin of some FDC supporters.
However, the former lawmaker has come out to deny the rumors saying “I made it clear that the meeting with The President was non political and that I remain committed to FDC both ideologically, politically and spiritually.” he revealed in a message posted on social media platform, Facebook.
He added that the Kingdom asked the president to mediate the conflicts in the Kingdom.
His revelation comes days after the Kingdom celebrated the 47th coronation anniversary of Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere and quashes the rumor that Kibanzanga was on the verge of defecting to the NRM.
