Hon. Nantaba, New Cabinet To Be Sworn In Tuesday

State Minister For Lands Hon. Aida Nantaba

The Recently Approved State Minister For Lands Hon. Aida Nantaba

President Yoweri Museveni will on Tuesday 30th October swear in the new cabinet, Red Pepper Online can authoritatively report. In a press statement this newspaper has seen, the ceremony will take place at State House Entebbe.

It should be recalled that in August the President expanded his cabinet to 80 after naming eight new Ministers while at the same time filling up the vacant posts that had remained vacant for over a year.

This comes at the heels of the Kayunga district woman MP Aidah Nantabi’s approval that has been greeted with mixed reactions from the public after she was vetted in the absence of speaker Hon. Rebecca Kadaga.

Hon. Nantaba’s nomination as minister for Lands had been rejected by Parliament’s Appointment’s Committee because of her conduct. Deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanya Presided over the committee that vetted the Kayunga legislator as Hon. Kadaga was away in Canada attending an Inter Parliamentary Union summit.

The new Ministers due to be sworn in include Frank Tumwebaze, Minister in-Charge of the Presidency, Richard Todwong Minister without Portfolio in-charge of Political Mobilization, Nantaba Aidah the  Kayunga district woman MP Minister of State for Lands, and Kiiza Ernest, Minister of State for Bunyoro Affairs, Najjemba Rosemary Minister of State for Urban Development, Kataike Sarah Ndoboli, Budaka district Woman MP Minister of State for Health and Shem Bagaine Minister of State for East African Affairs.

Nasasira, Kabwegyere Swap Ministries

However, in a new development, Professor Tarsis Kabwegyere who had initially been named Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development has swapped ministries with, Hon. John Nasasira who had been appointed Minister of State for General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister.

  1. We look at characters not colors, ability not liability and by the way you grow and go with character where you go, but you don’t find it where you go.So , if Hon Nantaba has all of that why then stop her from being one. After all we have had Ministers who have never impacted anyone in their homesteads for all their life in politics but if Nantaba has been such a powerful lady even before becoming a minister why not give her space to explode and do some more!
