I&M Bank joins Katogo invitational Golf series as partners

The Katogo Invitational Golf Series that is hosted quarterly at the Entebbe Club’s par-71 lakeside golf course has received a partnership boost from I&M Bank who are the leading banking and insurance group in Eastern Africa.
With this partnership, I&M Bank will ensure that the event which is majorly for club members runs smoothly throughout the year.
“We will also be availing prizes for the players as well as providing players with an exciting experience at the 19th hole, ” Sam Ntulume who is the Acting Managing Director at I&M Bank Uganda said in a press briefing at their Corporate Branch at Kingdom Kampala.
This development comes less than a month after I&M Bank joined the inaugural Serena 63 Golf Series as partners. Ntulume says that their latest commitment towards golf activities is intentional because of the impact of the game towards the growth of brands and the players themselves.
“Golf is one of the sports we believe has a bright future in this country,” Ntulume said nothing that golf helps boost social capital, enables different people to connect with various brands and that’s why they got on board to partner with the Katogo Invitational Series.
The 2023 opening leg of the Katogo Invitational Series was held in January and was the first event Entebbe Club hosted this year. The Sheema Boys pair won the overall title with a total of 680 nett. This team was composed of Andrew Atuhaire and Herbert Kamuntu.
Jacob Byamukama who is the Chairperson Entebbe Club revealed that the January event had no sponsor and now with I&M Bank on board, the second event scheduled for 29th April will be bigger and better and they expect a new atmosphere in the club by then.
“I&M Bank is partnering with us to see that we improve the facilities at the club as well as improving the experience of our members,” Byamukama said adding that their all-weather course is ready to host golfers and the new partnership will go a long way in easing the work of the new executive at the club.
Annette Nakiyaga who is the I&M Bank Head of Marketing & Corporate Communication is a seasoned amateur golfer. She says that this partnership is an opportunity for them to penetrate Entebbe Club and connect with its members but also gives them a platform to add value to the club.
 Katogo Invitational Golf Series is categorised into four events – Daytona held in the first quarter, followed by Call your shots in the second quarter, Me too in the third quarter and Oh Gosh in the last quarter of the year.
The quarterly series that started on 14 January 2023 will run up to 9 December 2023.
