Injured Ssegawa To Miss Key Champions League Tie

Uganda Revenue Authority FC will miss the services of Lawrence Ssegawa after the defender got injured during a build-up game yesterday.

URA will host Cameroon’s Coton Sport Garua on Saturday at the Mandela National Stadium in a game they must win to reach the first round. The first leg ended in a barren draw.

The industrious defender has been ruled out after he picked a masty jaw injury during an aerial collision as they battled to a 2-all draw against Club Victoria University.

Club Secretray Henry Mayeku confirmed that Ssegawa had suffered a serious injury. He said that a medical scan indicated a dislocated jaw which rules him out for several months.

In Ssegawa’s absence, Allan Munaaba remains the only natural left full back in the team since another player in that position Elasu Quddus has no Confederation of African Football (CAF) licence to feature in the tournament.

Head coach Paul Nkata said it is unfortunate Ssegawa is ruled out, but added that they will use the available players. The good news is Derrick Walulya who had a fever, Osama Farouk who suffered a bruise and Oscar Agaba are all available for selection.

The Cameroonian League Champions arrived in Uganda last night and are expected to have their first training session today.
