KAGAME CUP: KCC Progress To Quarter Finals
Uganda’s representatives at the ongoing Cecafa Kagame Club championship in Tanzania, KCC FC have booked a place in the quarter finals after a 1-0 victory against South Sudan side Malakia FC on Saturday evening.
New signing Isaac Sserunkuma’s lonely strike just 15 minutes on the clock was enough to send the garbage collectors to the last eight.
Sserunkuma capitalized on a brilliant pass from Hakim Ssenkumba before chipping the ball past Malakia goalie Kennedy Santolino.
Sserunkuma started ahead of injured Derrick Nsibambi in the two man striking partnership with Tanzanian born Shaban Kondo.
The second half saw Coach Sam Ssimbwa intoducing Dan Ssekabembe and Owen Kasule for Michael Birungi and Tom Masiko respectively.
Timothy Awani in the later replaced Hassan Wasswa Dazo.
Ssenkumba had a chance to double the lead during the 61st minute but thanks to goalkeeper Kennedy Santolino who denied his effort to force a corner kick.
