The people of Kazo Constituency in Kazo District are grieved after the sudden death of their former MP Gordon Bafaki Omwami who was killed in a car accident in kiwatule Kampala last night.
According to the statement from the territorial Police at Kira Road, this fatal accident occurred at around 1:00am this morning a fatal at Kiwatule along Northern Bypass involving Motor vehicle reg. KBZ 539Z Mercedes Benz trailer and Motor vehicle reg UBD 965E Toyota land cruiser TX.
It was confirmed that the driver of Motorvehicle reg UBD 965E who was identified as Hon. Gordon Gordon aged 48years old and resident of Namugongo – Kira Division in wakiso district died on spot and his body taken to Mulago City Mortuary.
According to ASP Faridah Nampiima the PRO, Traffic and Road Safety said that it is alleged that the driver of the Motorvehicle reg UBD 965E that is belonged to the deceased Hon. Bafaki knocked the rear body of the moving trailer.
Nampiima confirmed that the driver of the Trailer identified as Kahagi John Kinuthia is in police custody to help in investigations.
According to the sources, Bafaki was driving all the way from Kiruhura from attending Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s sports and entertainment function that was held in Nyakasharara Nyabushozi Kiruhura District. He was among the mobilizers of team MK.
Bafaki hails from Ntambaazi in Kazo District. He has been a married man with four Children, two girls and two boys. He lost the 2021 elections for Kazo MP seat to Dan Kimosho.
Bafaki was in Parliament for two term representing the people of Kazo constituency.
When he lost election, he emphasized on his businesses and farming. He has been owning a car bond in Kampala and other small businesses that he has been running in Kampala.
