Medical workers at Kawaala Health center in Rubaga division have called off their strike, which has been on for the last three days.
On Monday, more than 800 medical workers under KCCA laid down their tools to protest nonpayment of their salaries for the past four months.
Some of the health workers are complained of unpaid allowances. However, this afternoon the medical workers resolved to call off the strike following a meeting between their representatives and KCCA officials as their grievances are resolved.
They gave Jennifer Kagwa, the director of human resource and administration at KCCA up to Friday this week to pay their salaries or else they resume the strike.
Early this morning, Our Reporter visited the health center and found interns attending to two expectant mothers. Our reporter also saw several patients stranded at the outpatient department as there was no one to attend to them.
Mariam Nakavuma who had a sick baby said that she arrived at the health center by 7: am but was forced to try elsewhere because there was no one to attend to her.
