Kigezi High School luanches E-learning system

Professor Joy Kwesiga The vice chancellor Kabale University has urged students of Kigezi High School to put more effort in learning ICT if they want to become successful in future because we are in a digital era.
This was raised on thursday in her speech read by Anne Katabaazi Bwengye the deputy vice chancellor in charge of finance and administration at Kabale University while Launching E-learning system in Kigezi High School which has been powered by Kabale University.
Professor Joy who was also the guest of honor stressed that Kabale university community is very happy for having been involved in this project and promised on behalf of the university that they will always be there for the school in case the need arises.
She stressed that this has been in pipeline since the first wave of COVID-19 when all schools went into total lockdown and learners missed a lot as the university they were attached and have decided to introduce e-learning saying that they have started with Kigezi High school but they target is to provide this system to all schools in Kigezi region as in accordance to section 1.2 subsection 33 of Kabale university ICT pricy mandate community outreach program.
She added that this system will support continuous teaching and learning during normal school time and on holidays if well utilized through online classes and exams and even be graded online.
She has promised that they always come and carry out career guidance and counseling to the students in case they are called upon.
Abraham Akampurira The headmaster of Kigezi High School has thanked the administrators and staff of Kabale University for the partnership and for such great gift they have introduced to the school of E-learning saying that this will support teaching during holiday and school time since teachers are able to teacher students when they are in their homes.
He added that this will help learners to ask questions and mark themselves using this e-learning system saying that the system is automatic.
He has stressed that as management they can’t allow students to bring phones in school without the permission from the ministry of education and sports but instead the parents should buy laptops to their children to allow them easily excess the system saying that the school will be keeping them for the children and given them to the students when they are going to study online and research.
The headmaster has promised to coordinate with IT technicians of the school, board and all teachers at large to ensure that this system benefits the students and will encourage teachers to start using the system to teach the students.
Canon Turyagyenda Henry the chairman board of governors Kigezi High school has thanked Kabale university for helping them and introduce e-learning in the school saying that teachers will be teaching full time and students will be able to ask the questions concerning academics to their teachers any time saying that e-learning will improve on the standards of learning for students in Kigezi high school.
He has called upon teachers to use this chance of e-learning and apply for further studies saying that they can study while teaching since they will be studying online.
