Bernard Bainamani, the Chief Executive Officer of UPL, said that they decided to reschedule the game to October 8th to give the Simba SC team time to mourn their player. The other three games scheduled for September 23 will be played at different venues.

Defending champions KCCA FC will face table leaders Police FC, Kira Young hosts Bidco FC, while Express FC travel to face newly promoted Rwenshama FC.

Bainamani called on all clubs to observe a minute of silence and wear black arm bands this week to honour Musana.

Musana collapsed and died on Sunday while watching an English Premier League match between Manchester City and Chelsea.

The defender, who featured in his team’s 1-0 win over Entebbe FC in a Uganda Premier League match on Saturday, reportedly collapsed after Frank Lampard equalized for Manchester City.

Head Coach for army side Simba FC, Fred Kajoba, said that the player even trained with them on Sunday and told his friends he was going to spend his afternoon watching the English Premiership games. Kajoba said the player could have suffered a heart failure.

The club announced that the player will be laid to rest on Tuesday in Iganga District.
