Liberia Confirm Cranes Clash Date
The Football Federation in Liberia have fixed 24th March (Sunday) as the match date for the World Cup qualifier against Uganda Cranes.
Bobby Williamson’s Cranes will travel to Monrovia looking to avoid defeat if they are to stay their slim chances of making the next stage of Brazil 2014 World Cup.
“The confirmation letter copied to Caf was received in Mengo (Fufa headquarters) early this week through the Liberian FA General Secretary Mr. Alfonso Armah,” said Fufa publicist Rogers Mulindwa.
At the same time Mulindwa disclosed the federation was still hopeful of securing another international friendly match before the Liberia trip.
The Cranes drew 2-2 away against the Amavubi Stars in Rwanda early this month. Bobby is expected to start working with home-based players early next month.
Uganda, second on two points behind Senegal in their World Cup qualifying group which also includes Angola, must do what seems an impossible and lead the pool to advance to the next stage.
The WC qualifiers resumption comes as the country is trying to recover from yet another failed Nations Cup qualification campaign.
