Massa took just 18 minutes to open his account for Tuks, after Atusaye Nyondo had given the home side the lead two minutes earlier.

Nyondo’s opener caught Celtic off guard, breaking the deadlock against the run of play.

But Massa’s goal was the highlight of the encounter, as he thundered home from a free-kick that left the Celtic outfit rocked by a contender for goal-of-the-season.

The visitors looked threatening in the early stages, as Ruzaigh Gamildien’s low free-kick forced a good stop from Tuks goalkeeper Washington Arubi as early as the second minute.

“He is coming along well,” Barker says of Massa. “We might not have produced the performance we wanted to but it was a worth victory, after all our good efforts in the past when we just couldn’t get the result.”

“It felt great scoring in my first game. I hope to score a lot more for the club. I feel at home. We are a family here and work for each other,” Massa told reporters.

The 27 year-old was ignored by Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic for Uganda 1-0 defeat to Senegal in a decisive 2014 World Cup qualifier last week.
