Monster Police Boss Arrested
Old Kampala Division Police Commander Joram Mwesigye has been arrested for an assault on two journalists on Monday, January 12, 2015.
Mwesigye yesterday used a huge stick to beat activists and journalists who were from a media briefing in Mengo.
Mwesigye even threatened to shoot all the journalists that were filming the brutality that he was unleashing on journalists and activists.
“I am going to shoot you if you don’t stop filming what is going on now,” roared Mwesigye.
Mwesigye then ruthlessly thumped 28-year-old WBS cameraman Andrew Lwanga with a huge stick.
Blood gushed out of Lwanga’s head uncontrollably until he was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Sources have revealed that Lwanga’s condition at Nsambya hospital has been worsening hourly.
DPC Mwesigye had offered to cover the medical bills WBS journalist Andrew Lwanga would incur for treatment after Mwesigye assaulted him.
Mwesigye had also offered to compensate Lwanga.
“A media black-out slapped on the Uganda Police due to worsening brutality against journalists in the country was announced today.
