Fatal Accident Kills Five People in Kabale
Road accidents have been increasing at an increasing rate in Uganda this year
At least five people have been confirmed dead after an early morning accident at Kaharo, along the Kabale-Mbarara highway.
The accident that occurred at 6:30 am today involved a Toyota-Noah, Registration number UAP 798S and a Trailer RAC584T/RL0675 Benz Actros.
The dead include the driver of the Noah, identified as Ndayambaje Muhammad, Nkora butabara Emmanuel, a female juvenile Uwase Shemwe Teta, Bahati Claudin and another one not yet identified. The dead are all nationals of Rwanda.
Four others who include Safari Godfrey the trailer turn man, Badru Segujja, the driver of the trailer and three others yet to be identified are hospitalized at the intensive care unit in Kabale regional referral hospital. They are all unconscious.
The Cause of the accident remains unknown but Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate says investigations are ongoing.
The bodies of the dead have been taken to Kabale regional referral hospital Mortuary.
