Artists in partnership with top NGOs raise teen pregnancy awareness in song project ‘Tekawo Enjawulo’
To many people, Humphrey Nabimanya is just the founder and CEO of Reach A Hand Uganda a youth-led non-profit organization focused on youth empowerment programs with an emphasis on Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights.
Those who know him well know that he has since evolved. He has a strong foothold in the entertainment industry.
It was shown last week at the International University of East Africa as Nabimanya’s RAHU, partners the; Rose Charities and TAG Studios under Talent Africa Group collaborated on a musical project dubbed “TEKAWO ENJAWULO”, dedicated to raising awareness of teen pregnancy and its effects on young Ugandan girls. The song was officially Launched at the Brave Girls Festival that happened last week.

The ‘Tekawo Enjawulo‘ song project is headlined by Spice Diana and Jackie Chandiru in collaboration with Shine Omukiga, Triggah, and POA star winner, Nansambu Sandra.

Listening to the song, the message is sound and clear. It calls for a change in the behaviors of our society calling upon everyone to be responsible for the change that is needed, highlighting the main issues faced by Ugandan Girls.
In the song, the singer clearly talks about the real challenges these young girls go through. They sing about Early Marriage, pressure for trans-generational sex, for marks from teachers, and pressure from boys to have sex.
The lyrics that are in languages from different regions in Uganda depict these societal evils and showcase some of the pain they’ve caused to girls.
‘TEKAWO ENJAWULO‘ targets the young people and with Uganda having a population with the youngest people, the song has been well received on our airwaves.
