Ngora H. School S.4 Students threaten to strike over singer Sheeba’s failure to perform at Prom Party

By Emmanuel Ogwok
S.4 students of Ngora high school in Kumi District over the weekend carried out their prom party ahead of UCE examination in October. One of the students (name withheld) said the students paid hefty money amounts for the party and were supposed to invite Sheeba and other musicians but their head teacher stood on such a decision pointing out that the government has banned such musicians from being invited to schools.

This made the students unhappy. Some of the S4 students started threatening to cause a sit-down strike demanding the government of Uganda to lift the ban on Musicians. Middle way the prom party, some students started demanding that their money be refunded back.
The decision that was taken by government was caused by the skimpy dressing of musician Sheeba Karungi infront of the students of St Mary’s Kitende students when she was invited for their annual St Mary’s day celebrations.
This made the students unhappy and some started demanding that their money be refunded back.
