Dan Obote, the newly appointed Sporting United coach has earmarked a brighter start to his second stint at the Northern Side.

The former SC Villa and Uganda Cranes midfielder was appointed coach after the unceremonious vacation of Dan Ogwal Engwedo.

“There’s quite some work to do with the boys before the team reaches the levels I desire but am sure they will be fine by the next round,” Obote told ChimpSport after his first training on Monday.

The youthful coach has marked down a winning start on Thursday in an Elgon group encounter, but this will not come easy against an inform Simba FC that is yet to lose at their home grounds.

Despite failure to grab maximum points away from home, Simba have won all their four home games at Mashariki Grounds.

Simba coach Eric Ndifuna knows how important the fixture is and he is not ready to be inflicted to his first home loss. “Our strength has been at home and we must uphold it,” he observed.

Sporting that are last year’s playoff finalists sit 6th with 13 points after 9 games, one place above Simba that have same points with a game in hand
