Over 1 million Ugandans to grace M7 appreciation event today

Over one million Ugandans are expected to grace President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s appreciation event for his role in liberating and transforming Uganda over the last 60 years today, Friday, July 5th, 2024 at Kololo Independence Grounds.

Ugandan volunteers have pooled over 50 cows, five tons of rice and 10 trucks of matooke, money and soft drinks from volunteers in Ankole, Kigezi, Bunyoro, Toro, Buganda, Rwenzori, Busoga, Bugisu, Bukedi, Acholi, Lango, Sebei, Karamoja, West Nile and Teso sub-regions to make the day a success.

The event has been organized by the directorate of mobilisation National Resistance Movement (NRM) secretariat headed by Hon. Rosemary Seninde who is also the chairperson organising committee.

Mrs Seninde revealed that Ugandans from all walks of life pledged to transport themselves up to Kololo today to celebrate the achievements President Museveni and comrades have done for Uganda in areas of security, health, democracy, education, women emancipation, rule of law, sports, infrastructure, regional integration and Pan-Africanism, terror fight, rebranding Uganda.

“We thank these Ugandans for selflessly showing up to celebrate our great leader of the revolution,” she said.

She added: “We have been overwhelmed by so many Ugandans that have expressed sincere love for President Museveni. Some of them are volunteering hard labour. We feel these patriotic cadres deserve this opportunity to shine with their leader on Friday,” Mrs Seninde revealed, further stressing that they have so many gifts to present to President Museveni today.

President Museveni confirmed attendance in person.

She further revealed to us that the organizers have coined the social media hashtag #M7MyBrand to popularize the function.

“I appeal to all Ugandans of goodwill to follow and popularize the #M7InMybrand. This will be the hashtag that will guide everyone in the digital space to the celebrations,” said Hon. Seninde

The event will have special services to everyone that will be at Kololo.

When asked about the activities that will define the occasion, Hon. Seninde told said that a medical camp has been organized to manage any ailments

Key of these services is a medical camp that will offer free management of all ailments.

Hon. Seninde further informed us that government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are enthusiastically exhibiting their own works that reflect Museveni’s 60 year struggle efforts to transform Uganda.

On the allegations that whoever will set foot at Kololo is entitled to a transport refund and should duly demand for it, Hon. Seninde dismissed this narrative and clarified to Ugandans that this is ‘a Nyenkudiire’ event.

‘Nyenkudiire’ is a Runyankore concept which implies patriotic voluntarism.

Hon.Seninde appealed to President Museveni to remember the patriotic cadres who have voluntarily put this event together.

According to Hon. Seninde, the event has attracted Madaraka Nyerere, the son of founding President of Tanzania and mentor of President Museveni: Servant of God, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere.

On top of Uganda’s national political and religious leaders, ambassadors and diplomats, guests are also expected from Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, DRC, Rwanda, Kenya and South Sudan.
