Kadaga informed parliament this afternoon that the installation work is complete. The electronic voting system is part of the integrated security system introduced at parliament late last year.

Kadaga explained that, the system will provide for both the open voting and secret system. She appealed to legislators to comply with the ongoing registration for the integrated security system.

The intro of electronic voting systems is expected to bring an end to the lengthy roll calls and disputed voice voting in the house.

A fortnight ago, the speaker failed to give a ruling on a vote that was supposed to grant Lulume Bayigga, the Buikwe South MP leave to present a Private Members’ Bill on the Presidential Transition Bill, 2015.

Meanwhile, Kadaga has directed all MPs and parliamentary staff who have abandoned their vehicles in parking yard to them with the Security and hand over the keys.

She noted that in the recent past, parliament has credible terror threats adding that, the vehicles parked in the yard for months are a threat to Parliament security.
