The Red Cross Society in Kenya says more than 30 people have been killed and more than 500 injured in the Westgate Mall hostage situation.
The Kenyan Military have also joined the operation to try and rescue more people, reported to be held hostage inside the mall.
Masked gunmen, dressed in black from head to toe, stormed the shopping center earlier today and it’s not yet if they are robbers or terrorists.
Security forces remain deployed at the scene and a military chopper is also on stand by at the mall.
Many victims have been rescued and rushed to several hospitals in Nairobi. The Kenyan government has made an appeal for blood donation to save the hundreds injured.
The Westgate shopping centre is popular with expatriates and foreign diplomats.
Many of those running from the mall clutched small children. Others were crying. Mall guards used shopping carts to wheel out wounded children.
Police did not say what group was responsible for the attack.
Somali’s rebel group al-Shabab vowed in late 2011 to carry out a large-scale attack in Nairobi in retaliation for Kenya’s sending of troops into Somalia to fight the Islamic insurgents.

May those involved in this hideous crime be arrested and brought to book,they relly do not deserve to live.We pray for those still trapped in the mall to come out safely.

kenya security should wake up bse this is not the first time and posbly it may not be the last time, may God forgive them all.
This is a warning bell to all of the EAC member countries to be alert, Rwanda has been facing simple grende attacks and all countries haven been silent, so lets work together as EAC countries to stop these lupens of allah from taking our lives for breakfast. I think also double standards in an economy should be called to an end, I hear shopping mall for the reach, now what happened..!!??? even their wealth couldnt save them.
