Police seals off MP Mwiru’s home Over People Power Meeting in Jinja
Jinja – Police has on Thursday afternoon sealed off the home of the Member of Parliament for Jinja Municipality East Paul Mwiru and blocked members of the People Power pressure group from convening.
According to Mwiru – who recently joined the the Alliance for National
Transformation (ANT) recently formed by Gen. Mugisha Muntu from FDC, the
flopped meeting was scheduled for people power aspirants to return expression of interest forms.
‘’Police has sealed off my residence in Walukuba East where a handful of People Power candidates had comes to return expression of interest forms but [police] has dispersed them off yet they were observing all the set guidelines in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic,’’ Mwiru posted on his wall.
Police declined to comment on the matter before media as they ordered
supporters, tent and music service providers off the place arguing the meeting was illegal.
There was heavy deployment on all major roads entering Walukuba, right
from Dunlop junction, and other places connecting to Jinja East.

It should be remembered that there was stampede in Jinja on Saturday July 18 as Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine was hosted on a local radio station, Baba FM, owned by Jinja West MP Moses Balyeku.
