Police was right to Raid The Omusinga’s Palace – Gen. Odong

The minister of Internal Affairs Gen. Jeje Odong has said the police was right to do what it did because that the only option left after the royal guards failed to surrender as directed.
“Attackers refused to surrender, that left the security personnel with no choice but to attack the palace.” Gen. Odong said this morning while addressing journalists at Uganda Media Centre.
Odong said that, “Anyone who attempts to launch an armed attack on the country will be dealt with.”
On the fate of the incarcerated King of Rwenzururu, Charles Wesley Mumbere, Ogong said a legal action will be taken on all those who were arrested including the Omusinga.
“A legal action will be taken on people who will be found culpable; the Omusinga has to clear his name.”
The minister will in this afternoon plenary session give a detailed report to the house about the fate of Omusinga Wa Rwenzururu who is currently detained at Nalufenya prison in Jinja.
Meanwhile, death toll has risen to over 100 after more 25 dead bodies have been recovered in the sub-counties of Maliba and Bugoye.
