Princess Komuntale Says “I Do” To Christopher Thomas

Princess Komuntale (L) Promising to live with Christopher in the good and bad times

Tooro kingdom Princess Ruth Komuntale Saturday 17th November tied the knot with her American prince charming Christopher Thomas at a majestic ceremony held in Kabarole district, western Uganda 320km west of the capital Kampala.

The two made their vows before Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi, Uganda’s Outgoing Anglican prelate assisted by Rwenzori Anglican diocese bishop Reuben Kisembo in a ceremony that drew Tooro Kingdom subjects in their multitudes as they thronged St. John’s Cathedral to witness the royal wedding of their Beautiful Princess.

An aura of joy, happiness, elegance mixed with tradition filled the air as Tooro Kingdom subjects celebrated the most splendid wedding so far witnessed in the Kingdom’s modern history.

Marching to the rhythm of the famous “Praise the Lord” hymn played by the Police Band, Princess Komuntale was led through the aisle by her brother Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV accompanied by Queen mother Best Kemigisa.

Unlike most nuptials where newly wed couples perform the traditional ritual ‘You may now kiss the bride’, culture did not allow Thomas and his new wife to display that public affection.

However, the cultural inhibitors did not deter the ceremony from passing as a colorful one. What mattered was that Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi declared the two husband and wife.

Mother Nature put a seal of benediction on the ceremony by letting the skies loose.

Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi (L) shares a light moment with the newlywed Couple

The newlyweds met two years ago in the United States of America where Princess Komuntale was pursuing her University studies.

A host of high ranking government officials who included Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi, and Gen Elly Tumwine graced the ceremony that was also attended by cultural leaders from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Benin, and Swaziland.
