Rwenzururu King Worried about his Security

Rwenzururu king Charles Wesley Mumbere has revealed that his worried about his security a day after a scuffle near his palace in Kasase district that claimed four people.

Mumbere yesterday said he is concerned as long as Police flying squad is still hovering around his palace.

“It looks as if they (Police flying squad) are on mission to assassinate the Rwenzururu official,” he said.

“For us we will take them as they (Police flying squad) are enemies, anytime we meet each other, definitely there will be a clash.

He handed over three AK47 rifles to Captain Robson Kalenda, the officer in charge of Rwenzori region.

The guns, which belong to the UPDF soldiers guarding Mumbere’s palace, had been taken from the palace armoury during a scuffle between the Omusinga’s royal guards and his UPDF guards during the Sunday evening clash.

The kingdom royal guards used the guns to kill two Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldiers.

Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said in a press statement on Sunday that Police Flying Squad that is in the area “hunting down suspects behind the attacks on Kidodo Police Post, killing a police officer and stealing a gun.”
