Saints Want To Finish FBL Season An A High, Lweza Promoted

YES: Sempagala and Sekajugo celebrate their equalizer as Ssenkayi looks on dejected

The Saints FC skipper Geoffrey Bwire says the club are out to finish their FUFA Big League season on a high in the twentieth and final game against Ndejje University at Namboole Stadium on Saturday May 10th.Bwire

The match marks the end of a challenging season for the young club, and Bwire says the team have shown encouraging improvements following their disappointing denial of a playoff spot by the FUFA Competitions Committee when their rivals for the play off slot, Mutundwe Lions (belonging to FUFA President Moses Magogo) earned free nine boardroom points that suddenly captulated them to the brink of qualifying for the top-tier next season.

“This group of players have come through a lot of tough times during the season,” Bwire tells Red Pepper ahead of the game.

“Although we have had success in the recent gamess that we have played, making the playoff would have been a great achievement for us.

“Yes, I have had a successful regular season and put in some good performances of late, but I’d still like to be more consistent and finish the season brightly.”

The Saints are fourth on the Rwenzori group log but qualification for the playoff looks unlikely with Mutundwe facing Vurra who are already relegated.
