In his application filed before Kampala High Court, General David Sejusa wants court to declare that he ceased to be a UPDF officer on April 8, 2015 when he applied to retire.

In his suit, Sejusa explains that the refusal to pay him his salary, withdrawal of his uniforms, housing and transport allowances and guns among others, amount to ‘constructive discharge’ from UPDF.

Relationship between Sejusa and government soured in 2013 when media published a letter in which he damned probe into assassination claims.

He wrote it to ISO director general Ronald Balya asking him to investigate claims that there was a plot to assassinate senior army and government officials deemed opposed to the so-called “Muhoozi project” to have him succeed his father Yoweri Museveni as president of Uganda.

He later went to exile in London returning in December last year. He is largely living a private life.
