THE TRUTH! Huge hospital bill cited in DJ Alex Ndawula’s burial delay

Veteran radio presenter and DJ Alex Ndawula recently died at the age of 59. Ndawula died from Nsambya hospital where he had been admitted with a sickness.
It is now three weeks after his death and burial arrangements have been scanty until Friday when a tentative one was released.
Amidst all this, a highly placed source has come out to reveal what the world didn’t expect. According to our source, it has been alleged that the burial of DJ Alex has been delayed as his close family members are battling with a huge hospital bill rumored to be around shs20m that Nsambya is still demanding.
Currently the body of DJ Alex is at A Plus funeral home. Allegations have it that A Plus has an ongoing contract with Nsambya hospital reason why it is hard to release the body for burial on condition that the family would clear the debt before burial would take place.
However, in an interview with this publication, the chief burial coordinator Baba Bright has trashed the above rumors. He says that no one demands DJ Alex’s family. That the body is at A Plus funeral home and the family pays shs20000 for keeping it.
Baba further explained that the delay of the burial has been due to some close family members who live in many countries abroad. That for the love of DJ Alex, most family members agreed to hold on the burial until everyone has arrived in the country.
Baba also added that a big percentage of family members and friends have already arrived and by the look of things, before the month ends, everyone will be around.
On Allegations that Capital FM he worked with for many years abandoned Ndawula, Baba couldn’t comment. “His [Ndawula] family members would be the best to explain further.”
However, Baba confirmed that Capital FM has not started up any drive to raise funds for the burial. He said that the station decided to share one of the family member’s numbers on its social media for so many fans who wanted to send their condolences.
TENTATIVE BURIAL PROGRAM
According to sources the hospital bill will have been cleared by July 7 and burial shall be as follows;
Friday 8th July: Public viewing and memorial service hosted by Capital FM at their Gardens at Plot 1A Kisementi, starting at 2pm.
Saturday 9th July: Funeral service at Rubaga Cathedral starting at 2.00pm
Sunday 10th July: Alex will be laid to rest at Kyamaganda Village in Lwengo District. Mass starts at 12 noon and the burial will take place at 2pm. Location/Google maps link shall be shared in due course.
LIFE OF DJ ALEX
In another side to life where fate had Ndawula on the canvas. He was in 2014 left in a heap of heartbreak when Drucilla, his wife of many years, left him.
Ndawula left the world with no child to continue his legend. It is nothing like he could have helped.
“He was injured during a rugby game and that left him with a ‘dysfunctional system,” a showbiz journalist who was close to Ndawula intimated.
He was Born in New York in the United States in 1963, and relocated to Uganda when his father passed on when he was only eight year.
While in Uganda as a young boy, Ndawula joined St.Mary’s College Kisubi but one year later went to Nairobi, then Namasagali for his high school and finally Nakawa Technical Institute from where he did Marketing.
Ndawula, a star of private FM stations in Uganda, was a name to reckon with on Capital FM and Sanyu FM in the 90s and 2000s with his breakfast shows.
Alongside Chris Ireland and DJ Chazzo, Ndawula were the thing of the early days of FM radio in the country but later joined Kisementi based Capital FM where he presented the morning show. He later presented the Dance Force and Sundowner on the same station where he ended his career.
Ndawula called it quits after 40 years of service on radio in 2017.
