This is the first Time for Uganda to be peaceful- Museveni

President Museveni has said that Uganda is for the first time peaceful because of the efforts National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Speaking at Mbale Municipality grounds at the passing out of 173,010 crime preventers from 5 Eastern Uganda districts yesterday, Museveni said that the colonialists and the subsequent post colonial government tried but failed to pacify the country.
“Together with your parents we were involved in liberating this country because there was no freedom. During colonialism, colonialists tried to bring peace in the country but failed in Karamoja. This is the first time for Uganda to be peaceful,” he said.
When highlighting NRM achievements, peace comes first due to the prevailing conditions in northern Uganda after pushing Lord Resistance Movement far to Central Africa Republic and normalcy waves in Karamoja region after disarming the residents.
