Turkey FA pins Wasswa for Breach of Contract

the Turkey Football Federation has written to the world governing body and FUFA explaining that they refused to issue an International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to Hassan Mawanda Wasswa after his contract was terminated when he breached the contract with his Club.

The Cranes defender has failed to get his ITC from Turkey to join KCCA FC even after signing a deal with the club. However, last week FIFA wrote to the Turkey FA to explain why Wasswa’s ITC was not being released.

Rogers Mulindwa, the FUFA spokesman said this afternoon that the Turkey FA had replied yesterday. Mulindwa explained that the International Football body (FIFA) named an American as a single judge in the Wasswa case following resistance by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to clear him for an International Transfer Certificate (ITC) .

He said FIFA wrote to FUFA on Tuesday indicating that all the investigations into this case had been concluded and the matter handed over to Chuck Blazer as a single judge for further consideration and final ruling.

According to the Turkish FA General Secretary Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin, Hassan Wasswa’s contract with Club Kayseri was terminated after he reportedly failed to honour several official invitations back to the club.

FIFA, through Counsel Saskja Kuhn of the Players status committee had earlier given TFF up to February 12 to give a final response as to why they were holding onto Wasswa’s ITC.

Mulindwa said Wasswa’s move to KCCA will therefore remain on hold until the appointed single judge gives his final verdict.
Mulindwa added that FUFA had requested FIFA to speed up the process in order to give the Cranes player an opportunity to get involved in active football a head of the World Cup qualifier match due next month.
