Just a few days after Uganda Rugby Crane’s disastrous campaign in Africa Cup in Madagascar were Peter Magona’s charges were relegated from the tier 1A category, focus now turns to the 2013 Nile Special Uganda Cup tournament that kicks-off this weekend.

Action will commence in upcountry locations including Mukono, Gulu, Jinja, Llira among others.

“We will be having super 8 teams travel upcountry and have their players play against those players up there which I think helps in talent identification and awareness of the sport,” Uganda Rugby Union rugby manager Yayiro Kasasa told reporters after launching the tournament.
