Uganda Premier League Finally Kicks-Off Today
The long awaited 2014/2015 Uganda Premier League (UPL) will finally kick-off this afternoon with five matches on card.
After several court battles on who should be in-charge, the dust has finally settled and the League is back under the sponsorship of pay-TV, SuperSport.
The defending champions KCCA FC will however start their campaign next Tuesday against Police FC.
In Lugazi, newly appointed URA FC skipper skipper Saidi Kyeyune will lead his team against Bright Stars FC who finished 12th last season.
The Uganda Cup holders beat Tanzania’s Simba SC 1-0 last Friday in an International friendly played in Dar es Salaam.
Ex-TP Mazembe attacking midfielder Patrick Ochan who has not been in competitive action for several months now after the DR Congo team had refused to clear him late last year will feature for URA FC.
Uganda’s most decorated club SC Villa will also be in action against Soana FC at their new home, Mityana Stadium.
Their foreign imports Nchimunya Mweetwa (Zambia) and Victor Eminayo (Nigeria) are also expected to be in action.
The others games on card will see Coach Kefa Kisaala’s Bidco FC host new comers Sadolin Paints FC in Jinja, while Express FC play Kiira Young FC at their Wankulukuku Stadium.
Army side Simba FC will be away to Entebbe FC, while Police FC take on newly promoted Rwenshama FC.
