Uganda To Bid For 2017 World Cross-country

Uganda's Moses Kipsiro
Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) has revealed it will bid for the 2017 World Cross-country Championships.
UAF general secretary Beatrice Ayikoru let the cat out of the bag when she told reporters the success of this weekend’s biennial Africa Cross-country Championships will either make or break Uganda’s dream of bidding.
“We have received the bid documents and we are going to look through. How we fair at Sunday’s event will surely give us a great picture of how we will be able to handle this,” Ayikoru told New Vision.
Moses Kipsiro is expected to lead Uganda’s quest for silverware at Kololo full-strength teams from traditional powerhouses Ethiopia and Kenya.
Overall, 30 countries are expected to compete. Teams start arriving tomorrow.
