Uganda vs Ethiopia At Namboole As Health Campaign Kicks Off

Uganda Cranes’ Sunday evening game against Ethiopia is a precursor to next Saturday’s must-win 2015 Afcon qualifier against Ghana at Namboole. Entrance is free.

President Yoweri Museveni is expected to attend the game that will officially launch “Protect the Goal campaign” geared to combat HIV/ AIDS amongst the youth.

The friendly which is organized by FUFA in conjuction with the Government of Uganda under the two Ministries; of Health, Education and Sports.

The game is meant to sensitize the public against prevailing HIV/AIDS threat and HIV/AIDS will be tested as many people will also be given special counselling services.

Uganda Cranes on Friday played a trial match with the Junior U-23 side, The Kobs. The Cranes won 3 – 0 courtesy of goals by Michael Sserumaga, Faruku Miya and Robert Ssentongo.

Micho, Uganda Cranes’ head coach is expected to use a full strength side with including the foreign based Ugandan players. St George’s goal custodian, Robert Odongkara will start in the goal posts ahead of El Merriekh’s Jamal Salim, Brian Bwete and Ismail Watenga.

Isaac Isinde and Brian Majwega will man the right and left back departments respectively while Savio Kabugo and Richard Kassagga have been named as the two starting central defenders.

4 midfielders in Tonny Mawejje, Moses Oloya, Faruok Miya and Michael Sserumaga start in a presumed 4-4-2 system.
