Ugandan Defender Emuge Joins Kenya’s Gor Mahia
Kenya’s soccer power house Gor Mahia FC has completed the signing of Ugandan defender Israel Emuge who has been playing for Kiira Young FC.
The former Express FC and KCC FC centre back has penned a two year deal with the FKF Cup champions that will see him serve them till 2015, according to club secretary George Bwana.
“It’s true we have signed him as we boost the side ahead of the Kenyan Premier League and continental engagements”, he said.
This probably explains why Emuge was missing as Kiira Young won Water FC 2-0 in a Fufa Super League game played on Wednesday at Lugogo, he was on his way to Nairobi to finalise everything.
That Emuge is a talented central defender who reads the game well is beyond doubt; his aerial ability is performed with extreme finesse in addition to tackling excellently well.
He made sure KCC FC kept a water tight defence when they won the super league in 2008.
However, club officials have been tight lipped about the financial details of this mega deal the Ugandan will welcome as a new year present.
Daniel ‘Mzee’ Sserunkuma and Ivan Anguyo are the other Ugandans at the club in addition to more Ugandan footballers Ugandans featuring in the Kenya Premier League (KPL).
Gor Mahia were runners up to Tusker FC in the KPL last season.
