Thousand of revelers from Uganda, East Africa and other continents have flooded the Jinja and Njeru for this year’s Reggae on the Nile Fest. They have come from different countries and different walks of life.
After 2 years off because of covid19 and the lock-down, Reggae on the Nile Fest is back and will kick off Friday 4th November 2022 to Saturday. Organized by Humble Management ltd and Nile Vybz Entertainment, the RON FEST 2022 will be held at Nile Nest Jinja.
Although the event will begin on Friday, several activities began Tuesday morning with setting up stages hosting various jockeys and performers, food, drinks and traders vending various specialties.
Hotels have also reaped big ahead of the fest as more partier from abroad continue to book for accommodation within Njeru and Jinja, which has economically added impact to communities.
Over the past years, Reggae on the Nile Fest has created an economic eco-system that has started benefiting the locals and created employment for others, when it happens.
According to organizers, the break off during the COVID-19 Pandemic was used to assess and re-imagine the festival and determine what direction was best for its longevity. Organizers have promised a better festival and that is what they will be delivering.
A Two Day Event Line up of Workshops and Culture Seminars, Themed Rafting and Tubing, Camping, Art Exhibition, Food Village and all this while being entertained by cool reggae vibes. Reggae on the Nile harmonizes three critical aspects of the reggae entertainment; Music and culture, Art, Tourism.
‘’Music and culture: Uganda has grown musically across genres and most notably reggae; this is an attraction that needs to be celebrated and shared with the world. This event is built to be a platform from which to boost the musical heritage of the country by showcasing the best reggae acts Uganda has to offer on a stage with the rest of the region’s best’’, reads a release from the organizers.
Art: Music and Art go hand in hand, and thus we are adopting a mode that will enable artists, painters, fashion designers to show case at the event and thus add spice and color to our show. Tourism: Jinja is one of the most iconic and beautiful towns in Uganda, attracting over 200,000 tourists both local and international.
They are thus building Reggae on the Nile to be one of the key attractions to Jinja annually, providing a very fun and authentic reason to travel to Uganda and Jinja particularly at the banks of River Nile for this reggae experience.
RONFEST continues its mission to present the best in local, national and international acts and the 2022 headliners featuring Ugandan Reggae legend Madox Sematiba, exceptional Henry Tigan, New generation Zex, best of best Abeeka Band, Cultural dance groups, Performers from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and the rest of the world acts i.e. Jamaica, south Africa, Nigeria, USA, UK.

As part of the preparations, they are set to have the best production, i.e. Stage, sound, lighting, backline, to offer a memorable reggae experience. We are working hand in hand with the different security agencies from the top to the local agencies on ground to deliver a secure and safe event.
